The sealing principle of the oil seal of the pilot pump is based on the close contact between the elastomer seal and the rotating shaft, which prevents the lubricating oil from leaking by forming and maintaining an extremely thin oil film. The core of oil seal lies in the design and working mode of its sealing lip. The sealing lip of the oil seal contacts the surface of the rotating shaft with a certain pressure, and the width of the contact surface is usually less than 0.5 mm. This contact pressure mainly comes from the elastic deformation of the oil seal or the internal spring structure. When important official rotates, an oil film with a thickness of about 0.003 mm will be formed between the lip and the shaft, which plays a dual role: on the one hand, it provides lubrication to reduce friction and wear, on the other hand, it seals the medium by using the surface tension and boundary lubrication effect of liquid. The sealing performance of oil seal depends on its structural design and dynamic adaptability. The sealing lip is usually designed to be inclined, which is helpful to generate pumping action when rotating and push the leaked oil back into the sealing cavity, thus enhancing the sealing effect. At the same time, the elastic material or spring structure of the oil seal makes it have the following compensation performance, which can adapt to the slight vibration, deflection or wear of the shaft and keep the contact pressure stable. If the oil film is damaged due to too high pressure, too fast speed or wear, the seal failure may lead to leakage. In hydraulic systems such as pilot pump, the sealing effect of oil seal directly affects the efficiency of equipment. It effectively prevents oil loss by isolating lubricating oil from the outside and maintaining dynamic balance at high speed.
